Kate Berardi

Biography

Dr. Berardi has worked for 17 years as a formal and non-formal educator, gaining invaluable experiences that she brings to her current role as an Assistant Teaching Professor and the Community and Economic Development Program Coordinator at Penn State University. Her research interests include empathy education, curriculum design and instruction, non-formal education program development, education program evaluation, and youth leadership development, and empathy in communities. Dr. Berardi has fostered relationships for her work in empathy education, including collaborations with the Fred Rogers Center in Latrobe, Pennsylvania and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Outside of work, Dr. Berardi enjoys spending time in nature with her daughter and a multitude of pets.
